Problem My hearing aid is dead
What you can do
- Check the battery door is closed
- Change the battery
- Clean your ear piece with your hearing aid brush
- If this doesn’t work, bring the aid in to be checked.
Problem My hearing keeps whistling
What you can do
- Check the ear piece is correctly positioned in your ear.
- Check you have the correct aid in the correct ear
- Get your ears checked for wax as this can cause feedback or whistling
- If this doesn’t work, bring the aid in to be checked.
Problem My hearing aid isn’t loud enough
What you can do
- Check the battery door is closed
- Change the battery
- Clean your ear piece with your hearing aid brush
- Get your ears checked for wax
- Book an appointment with your clinician. Your hearing aids may need reprogramming if your hearing has changed.
Problem My hearing aid is intermittent, it cuts in and out
What you can do
- Change the battery
- If this doesn’t work, bring the aid in to be checked
Problem The new battery doesn’t work
What you can do
- Try another battery and make sure you allow time for the battery to activate after you remove the sticker.
- If this doesn’t work, bring the aid into be checked.
Problem The battery doesn’t last long
What you can do
When you remove the sticker from the battery wait 30 seconds for the battery to react with the air and fully activate before inserting in your hearing aid
